The Mask Center, 1083 Austin Ave. NE, #008, Atlanta, GA 30307 - Home of Gateway Performance Productions.
The Mask Center is a studio theatre and workshop space used by Gateway to rehearse and perform new productions as well as for exhibits, workshops, classes and meetings. Since 2000, The Mask Center has been located in the Little Five Points Community Center, a converted turn of the 20th century school.
Classes in mime, clown theatre and movement for the actor, drawing/sketching and acting are presented at the Mask Center. Available for rental
The Mask Center has a 30' x 30' convertible performance/workshop/rehearsal space, a wooden floor and a 25' x 10' wall of mirrors. This provides the possibility of a full-size stage with seating limited to the edges of that stage, which makes it a very desirable space for theatre and dance companies preparing works for larger spaces, while maintaining an intimate theatrical experience for a wide variety of events that serve relatively small audiences.
The Mask Center has air conditioning and a simple, but effective, lighting system. The performance space seats 30 - 50 persons.
The Mask Center is located within two blocks of the Inman Park Marta station.
The Center is wheelchair accessible, on the level with a large free parking lot and sidewalks outside the building.
