Julie Moon - Choreographer, Flamenco Dancer, Video Production
Julie Moon is an artist and educator working across the country in projects that explore the transatlantic roots of flamenco dance and music. She is a flamenco instructor for the dance program at Emory University, where she teaches improvisation, choreography, technique, and history as she learned from her teachers in Seville, Spain. She has 15 years of experience as a full-time teaching artist, using flamenco as a vehicle to teach subjects, such as mathematics, literacy, and team work. With an M.A. in Spanish and extensive dance experience, she is a published scholar and international lecturer on flamenco. She is the executive director of A Través, a non-profit dedicated to flamenco arts and the founder of the Atlanta Flamenco Festival.
